Manfrotto has just launched a new quick-release system for camera support accessories called MOVE. The purpose of this unique ecosystem is to move your camera rig from a tripod to a slider, to a jib, and so on in seconds. So let’s take a closer look at it!

Along with the MH496-Q6 ball head, the GimPod, Pro Light camera bag, and, the Gimbal 300XM, Manfrotto also launched a new quick-release system for grip equipment: MOVE.
Quick-release systems for grip equipment are not something new, as we already talked about the iFootage Seastars Q1 last year during our Virtual Show. However, Manfrotto is taking this concept much further with a 20kg payload!
Manfrotto MOVE features
The Manfrotto MOVE is a quick-release system made for grip equipment. This system allows you to quickly move your camera rig from a slider to a tripod, a monopod, a jib, or nearly every kind of equipment you can imagine.

The Manfrotto MOVE is entirely made out of machined aluminum, it weighs only 220g/0.48lbs, and it can take a payload of up to 20Kg/44lbs, which is impressive. In terms of dimensions, the base has a diameter of 60mm/2.36in for a total height, when the system is closed, of 53mm/1.37in.
The top plate features a 1/4″-20 mounting screw with a spring-loaded anti-rotation pin. Also, the top plate comes with a built-in 1/4″-20 to 3/8″-16 adapter. The bottom plate has a flat base with a 3/8″-16 mounting hole.
The Manfrotto MOVE looks like a straightforward system: all you need to do is turn the X-Lock to release the top plate. And that’s it; no specific alignment is required; you can put the top at any angle you want. When you’re done, put the top plate onto another MOVE receiver and press the top plate onto the receiver to fully lock it.
Manfrotto MOVE leveling top plate
Manfrotto also launched an optional leveling top plate (codename MVAQR-GIM) that has all the features of the regular top plate (codename MVAQR-PLATE) but adds leveling capabilities. This leveling top plate is clever as it offers you a 15° range of adjustment.

The complete MVAQR quick-release system retails for $99.99/€99.99. Of course, you can buy parts separately: the base only is $89.99/€89.99, the regular plate is $24.99/€24.99, and the leveling top plate is $29.99/€29.99. All products are available now.
As a direct comparison, the iFootage Seastars Q1 – now replaced by the Q1S – that can take a payload of only 9Kg/19.8lbs is $74.00/€75.00 for the complete kit.
