CAME-TV Gimbal Support Vest GS16 Released

CAME-TV has recently introduced a new support vest for gimbal operators, the CAME-TV Gimbal Support Vest GS16. This system can support camera setups weighing up to 18kg. It is adjustable to fit the user’s height and should help distribute the load on the lower part of the body. It is now available to order for $398.

Shooting handheld for an extended period of time can be tiring and, even worse, can also cause health problems in the long run. For this reason, camera operators tend to rely on support vests to take part of the heavy lifting off to enjoy a bit of relief.

Easyrig is probably the most well-known manufacturer of these systems, but there are plenty of other options on the market. Recently, Chinese company CAME-TV developed their own solution, the Gimbal Support Vest GS16. Let’s take a closer look.

CAME-TV Gimbal Support Vest GS16: overview

The new CAME-TV Gimbal Support Vest GS16 wraps around your waist and chest via a dual elastic nylon belt system. It promises to reduce pressure on your neck and shoulders by better distributing the weight of your camera or gimbal setup to your waist and legs. Unlike higher-end products, the CAME-TV GS16 lacks a real stabilizing system.

According to the company, this support vest can be used with payloads ranging from 3 up to 18kg (6.6-39.6lbs). The system features a hybrid aluminum/plastic construction and it should weigh between 4 and 5kg overall.

The CAME-TV GS16 should be quick and easy to set up. It attaches to your camera’s top handle or gimbal via an adjustable spring hook mechanism. Moreover, the company claims the vest is comfortable to wear and its fit is adaptable to the height of the camera operator.
