ATOMOS ZATO CONNECT Announced – Affordable Streaming Monitor

ATOMOS ZATO CONNECT Announced – Affordable Streaming Monitor

With the release of the new ZATO CONNECT 5″ streaming monitor, ATOMOS added a very affordable product to their ATOMOS CONNECT range of streaming devices. Available to pre-order for $399.

Atomos has a reputation for creating affordable products for filmmakers that offer high value to their (quite long) life span. The NINJA V has been released in 2018 (see our NAB coverage here) and, although the NINJA V+ was released in 2021, it is still up-to-date. With the addition of add-on modules, you are able to extend its functionality even further.

ZATO CONNECT

The ATOMOS ZATO CONNECT is based around the housing and 1000-nit display of the NINJA V, but with live streaming as its main feature. You can connect almost any HDMI input source or USB webcam and with the built in Wifi5 or via the included USB-C to ethernet adaptor start streaming from anywhere.

ZATO CONNECT can also convert your HDMI or USB feed to be used for web conferencing with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and other conferencing software.

Connections

With HDMI input on the device you can easily attach a computer, camera or console up to 1080p 60 and additional support for USB web cams up to 1080p30 provide support for a range of ways to create.

On the side of the ZATO, there is a 3.5mm mic/line input for attaching microphones and other audio sources. You can also plug in your headphones for monitoring your audio, which can be mixed independently and combined using the easy-to-use tools inside the ZATO.

USB-PD (USB Type C) can be used for powering the ZATO CONNECT, in addition to the built-in NP-F battery plate. You can easily mount this device on top of a DSLR or mirrorless camera or simply put it on your desk next to your computer or gaming console.

Stream anytime, anywhere

The ZATO CONNECT can also connect directly to the internet via WiFi 5 (hence the two large antennas) or Gigabit Ethernet (using a USB-C Adapter) if you would like to stream without using a computer. You also get the ability to join cellular hotspots so you can stream or teleconference from anywhere.

AtomOS Lite software

As the name implies, the operating system is a slimmed-down version of what you usually find in ATOMOS recorders. You still get the essential, easy-to-use tools to combine sources, record streams, and overlay graphics to add more value to your stream or video presentation.

ATOMOS Stream subscription

At launch, the ZATO CONNECT will connect to Atomos Cloud Studio to manage your Stream keys and will include free streaming to a single platform like Facebook Live, Twitch, Youtube, and more. Later in 2022, ATOMOS will start offering a subscription service that will unlock a wider range of services and will allow you to stream to multiple platforms simultaneously, using ATOMOS Cloud Studio.

All streaming is done with industry-standard encryption so all data transfers are protected and streams are secure.

Price and availability

You can pre-order ZATO CONNECT for $399 now and receive a 3-month-subscription of ATOMOS Cloud Studio and NDI|HX activation (valued at $99) for free.
