CAME-TV Dual Handles for DJI Ronin S and RS Series Released

CAME-TV has recently launched a dual handle system for DJI handheld gimbals, including the Ronin S/SC as well as RS series. The accessory is collapsable into 4 parts when traveling, and should provide a more stable grip. It retails for $138.

After five years of proud Mōvi Pro ownership, I recently decided to pick up the new DJI RS 3 Pro to go with my RED Komodo 6K. Although Freefly Systems’ stabilizer never let me down, it’s very hard to go back after experiencing the benefits of the small footprint of DJI’s handheld gimbal.

However, being used to the wide grip of the Mōvi Pro Ring, I freshly decided to add SmallRig’s Dual Handgrips to my RS 3 Pro setup in order to achieve a more familiar way of operating the camera. Meanwhile, CAME-TV came up with a similar accessory, the Dual Handles for DJI Ronin S and RS Series. Let’s take a closer look.

CAME-TV Dual Handles for DJI gimbals: features

The new CAME-TV Dual Handles are compatible with the DJI Ronin S and SC models as well as the RS 2, RSC 2, and the freshly-released RS 3 and RS 3 Pro. I must admit that, among the currently available options, this new offering from CAME-TV seems to be the most limited. But please, let me explain.

The system consists of four parts: two extension tubes and the actual rubber handgrips. The extension tubes feature a toolless design and attach directly to the NATO interface on each side of your DJI gimbal. On the other hand, the two handles slide into the tubes and can quickly be locked into the desired position.

This setup provides a wider, more comfortable grip compared to the gimbal’s native design. Moreover, the CAME-TV Dual Handles seem to offer a slight advantage over SmallRig’s equivalent solution, as it is faster to move the handles from an underslung to an upright position. However, this is where the benefits end.

Indeed, while each handle offers a cold shoe mount with a safety pin at the top, the system overall lacks mounting points for accessories, which are critical for attaching monitors, wireless video systems, and other gimbal essentials. Indeed, the surface of the extension tubes is completely flat, thus making it harder to mount 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 add-ons. This could be done using some sort of clamp, but I’d rather have native attachments on the arms.

Price and availability

The new CAME-TV Dual Handles for DJI Ronin S, SC, RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, and RS 3 Pro is now available for purchase from the manufacturer’s website for $138. Major competition comes from the aforementioned SmallRig Dual Handgrips, DJI’s own R Twist Grip Dual Handle, and Tilta’s Dual-Handle Bracket.
