Accsoon CineView and SeeMo HDMI Adapter Firmware Updates – Less Latency, New Features

Chinese manufacturer Accsoon has updated the firmware for the SeeMo device, an HDMI to iOS video preview and capture adapter, and the CineView, a wireless video transmitter. The Accsoon SeeMo preview adapter is available for $179 and the CineView wireless video transmitter for $649

The Accsoon SeeMo HDMI Adapter turns your existing iPhone or iPad into a full-blown video monitor, and a recording or streaming device, using the free Accsoon SEE iOS app. If you are not familiar with this fantastic little tool, please watch the full video review (below) by my colleague Nino or read about the SeeMo here.

The new firmware V1.4 minimizes latency even more and also adds several new features to the Accsoon SeeMo. Using the advanced processing power of the latest generation of iPhone and iPad models, in combination with the low latency, this combination turns into a fully useable field monitor solution.

To demonstrate the low latency, you can check out Accsoon’s video comparing the performance of the SeeMo together with the latest iPad mini to a professional HDMI monitor. The impressive results show a near identical latency, using a Sony A7 IV camera signal.

Additional new SeeMo features

Together with the updated Accsoon SEE app (V1.0.3), the firmware brings a cool new feature to the SeeMo adapter: it enables USB-C equipped iPads now to be charged at 1.5A directly from the SeeMo battery while in operation. Unfortunately, the update doesn’t include a charging function for the iPhone Lightning connector.

Furthermore, the amount that an image is zoomed in while checking focus is now displayed as a percentage on-screen. Also, the Histogram function has been improved, as well as the overall stability of the app and firmware.

If you were not that happy with the existing grey model, which may make it appear a bit cheap, there is a stylish black alternative version of the SeeMo available now.

CineView firmware and iOS app updated

The CineView wireless video transmitter and receivers, and the Accsoon GO iOS app have also been updated with a new feature that automatically saves video files, just in case the HDMI signal drops out while recording onto your iOS device. The audio level meters have been re-designed and Histogram has also been improved.

Price and availability

To update the Accsoon SeeMo to the latest firmware V1.4, you will have to use the Accsoon SEE iOS app. The newest firmware for the CineView Wireless Video Transmitter can be updated using the Accsoon GO iOS app. Both updates are available now free of charge.
