Hollyland Solidcom C1 Pro Released - Now with Environmental Noise Cancellation

Hollyland has just released a new version of its Solidcom C1 wireless intercom system: the Solidcom C1 Pro. This Pro model features environmental noise cancellation (ENC), a technology that isolates your voice in crowded shooting environments and eliminates background noise. There is a dedicated mute button on the headset and a Push-to-Talk (PTT) function if you press and hold the mute button. So let’s take a closer look at it!

Chinese manufacturer Hollyland has built itself a solid reputation over time for its various wireless solutions, including wireless video systems, wireless microphones, and wireless intercom systems like the Mars T1000 and Solidcom M1 that we reviewed.

The Hollyland Solidcom C1 was released in March 2022. After listening to user feedback, the company is back with an upgraded Pro model that makes a great intercom even better.

Hollyland Solidcom C1 Pro – features

Let’s start with everything similar between the Hollyland Solidcom C1 and the Solidcom C1 Pro:

  • You have one master headset and up to eight slave headsets. No hub is required. It is designed for crews ranging from 2 to 9 team members.
  • Microphone audio frequency response is identical: 150Hz to 7KHz.
  • The system has a line-of-sight range of up to 350m/1,100ft. The audio signal transmits on the 1.9GHz band with DECT 6.0 encryption.

  • The headsets are powered by removable batteries in the headrest. The batteries are the same for the C1 and C1 Pro. The master headset has a maximum battery life of 5-6 hours, while the slave headsets can run for up to 10 hours. You get one spare battery per headset in the kit.
  • The weight of the headsets is similar: around 170g each with the battery.

Now that you have a better overall view of the similarities between the C1 and C1 Pro, let’s take a closer look at the differences.

What’s new?

The first physical change on the Hollyland Solidcom C1 Pro is the addition of a new omnidirectional secondary microphone on the headset that will record the background noise. Then, if you switch a button on the primary microphone, it will activate the environmental noise cancellation or ENC feature. In a nutshell, the background noise captured by the secondary microphone will be canceled by the ENC algorithm up to 20dB, so your voice is clearer.

Next, the button layout of the Solidcom C1 Pro headset has been redesigned with a new Mute button in the middle. This mute button doubles up as a Push-to-Talk button if the button remains pressed.

The volume buttons are now above and below the Mute button, while the A/B buttons used to switch between groups when using a hub are now on the left and right sides.

As previously mentioned, the Solidcom C1 and C1 Pro can work without a hub. However, if you work with many headsets and different teams, you can purchase the optional hub to create two communication groups.
