Tilta New Accessories Announced – L Series Battery Plate (V2) and ARCA Manfrotto Dual Quick Release Plate

Tilta, the reputable accessories manufacturer from China, continues to bring useful tools to the market. This time, they have unveiled a Sony L battery plate and an ARCA Manfrotto dual quick-release plate. Let’s take a closer look

Sony NP-F series of batteries might be one of the most popular standards out there. Currently, many companies are producing these batteries, making them incredibly affordable. (Not to mention the wide range of capacity capabilities).

Tilta has been producing a simpler version of this battery plate for a while, but now an updated version is being introduced to the market with some useful “add-ons”.

Tilta L Series Battery Plate V2 – features

Numerous new features in this battery plate are worth looking at:

• USB-C Dual Direction fast charging. The 18W PD port can charge batteries and power devices such as laptops. You can also find additional power ports like USB A (5V/2.1A) and DC out (8V/3A), along with another DC out port (12V/2A).

• Compatibility with a wide range of NP-F batteries from Sony and third-party brands

• A real-time display indicator that displays the remaining battery capacity and charging/discharging status

• No tool is needed to attach this battery plate to your camera cage (mounting to rig or cage via a 1/4″-20 screw with locating pins)

• Last but not least, the battery plate is constructed from durable aluminum alloy material (nice to see it is not from plastic) and the bottom silicon pad prevents slipping and scratching

Tilta ARCA Manfrotto Dual Quick Release Plate

The second accessory that has been introduced is a simple but much-needed quick-release plate. Personally, since working with mirrorless cameras, I have abandoned most of my “heavy-duty” equipment, including tripods made by some leading companies. (My personal interest currently lies in travel tripods). However, the challenge arises when dealing with mixed equipment or various standards: figuring out how to attach and connect everything together. These two quick-release plate standards (Manfrotto and ARCA) are good examples. And here comes Tilta to our aid with a “missing link” product that costs $8.90.

• The new plate is compatible with both the Manfrotto and ARCA standards, so cross-usage of various tripods/heads/sliders is seamless.
