Blackmagic Design Introduces New ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panels and Videohub 80x80 12G

Right on time for IBC Show 2023, Blackmagic Design updated its broadcast product lineup by introducing two new ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panels with 20 and 30 input buttons as well as a massive Videohub with 80 12G-SDI inputs and outputs.

Blackmagic Design kicked off IBC Show 2023 in full swing. Some of their most exciting announcements include the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K featuring a full-frame sensor and L-mount as well as their first iPhone filmmaking app with native Blackmagic Cloud integration.

However, the company did not forget about their broadcast product lineup, which is now seeing the introduction of two new hardware control panels for Blackmagic Design ATEM switchers along with their largest Videohub router to date. Let’s take a quick look!

Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel 20 and 30

The new Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel 20 and 30 join the existing ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel 10. As their names suggest, they offer 20 and 30 input buttons respectively as well as two or three system control LCDs.

Both panels have physical buttons that provide support for 4 upstream keyers, 4 downstream keyers, and 4 M/E rows. Additionally, each panel offers a joystick for DVE and camera adjustment, plus a weighted T-Bar fader. Both devices are equipped with Ethernet and USB-C.

Blackmagic Videohub 80×80 12G

Additionally, the company introduced a massive video router with 80 12G-SDI inputs and outputs with built-in 12G-SDI re-clocking. According to Blackmagic, their new Videohub 80×80 12G allows you to connect any video input to any video output, or even a single video input to multiple outputs. This should prevent a cable mess in your broadcast studio.

Support for 12G-SDI connections means that the system can manage a large range of video sources and destinations, spanning from SD to 4K DCI or UHD signals. Furthermore, the router is claimed to have zero latency when routing video.

Just like the existing 10×10, 20×20, and 40×40 models, this new 80×80 variant features a front control panel with physical shortcut buttons, a mechanical knob to browse through video sources and route them, and a clear LCD display that showcases labels or even live video for each source – which removes the need for having a dedicated, external monitor.

On the back of the hub, along with the numerous 12G-SDI connections, we can find an Ethernet port that enables remote control using Blackmagic Videohub Smart Control Pro software.

Price and availability

The new Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel 20 and 30 are now available to pre-order from B&H for $3899 and $5645 respectively. They should start shipping in October, just like the Videohub 80×80 12G, which will set you back $9995.
