Ulanzi BP09 and BP10 Backpacks Launched for Photo and Video Creators

Chinese accessories manufacturer Ulanzi is starting a new branch in its ever-growing roster with two photography backpacks. Both bags offer medium-large capacity, ample storage space, and organizational options galore. As the simple naming scheme suggests, the BP09 is a bit smaller at 22 liters. The BP10 starts at 25 liters and can be expanded to add an additional 10 liters.

Ulanzi didn’t try to “reinvent the backpack”. Unlike some of its other innovative product lines, the BP09 and BP10 were built on a tried-and-true, classic photo-video backpack design while incorporating clever additions such as a discreet AirTag slot, an anti-theft buckle design, etc.

The Ulanzi BP09 backpack

The BP09 is the smaller of the pair, aimed at enthusiasts, travel photographers, content creators, etc. Measuring 17.30″/440mm (H) x 6.89″/175mm (W) x 13.38″/340mm (L), the bag can accommodate a decent amount of gear: two cameras and around four lenses along with various accessories. While it may not fit a professional, vertical-gripped, hybrid camera or a large cine camera, that’s clearly not their target audience. The backpack includes several dividers for customizable organization and should fit your day-to-day kit.

As with most backpacks in this segment, a generous 16”/40.6cm laptop compartment is also onboard. Various organizational pockets are sprinkled all around (and inside) the backpack. The bag will also include various straps and attachment points to secure tripods and other accessories. The BP09 features a large clamshell opening as well as a right-side, quick-access opening.

The Ulanzi BP10 backpack

The bigger brother of Ulanzi’s BP range, dubbed a “hardshell camera backpack” by Ulanzi, the BP10 features a rugged design aimed at accommodating a full-day’s excursion with a plethora of cameras, lenses, and accessories. Measuring 18.5″/470mm (H) x 8.66″/220mm (W) x 12.99″/330mm (L) before expansion, it will accommodate two camera bodies and around 6 lenses (Ulanzi’s specs).

This kind of capacity dictates a specific ergonomic design, and the BP10 delivers on this front as well. It features adjustable sternum straps, sturdy waist belts with pockets, S-shaped shoulder straps, a ventilated and pressure-relieving mesh back panel, and a robust, stable frame. These elements work together to alleviate the strain of carrying a full load throughout the day. Ample organization pockets, straps, and more are included, along with weatherproof zippers across the bag.

Both the BP09 and BP10 are available for preorder on Ulanzi’s website and at select retailers. Both will start at special early bird prices. The BP09 will be priced at $109 once it hits retail but is now available for $89. The BP10 Hardshell will set you back $149 and is available for $119 for a limited time.
