FALCAM, the brand under the Ulanzi group known for its affordable camera gear and accessories, has released a second version of its F38 Quick Release Kit for backpacks, adding a new design and functionalities.

Buying a camera is usually the first step in a process where users explore and refine their shooting requirements and ideal setup. A new improved version

The F38 Quick Release Kit for Backpack V2 is a convenient solution for outdoor shooters and filmmakers who are accustomed to carrying their backpacks when they’re working. Street photographers, wedding filmmakers, or travel content creators could see it as a perfect companion for keeping their cameras readily accessible while giving their hands a break. With a weight of only 86 grams, it can load up to 30kg, so the limit here is the amount of strength in your shoulders rather than the system’s capability.

The new version allows shooters to lock and release their cameras in seconds by pushing and pressing a button. This quick system is perfect when we want to ensure we never miss a crucial shot because the camera isn’t ready. The F38 Quick Release ecosystem also improves our general workflow, letting us transition from the backpack to our hands, a tripod, gimbal, etc., in seconds.

Compatible, comfortable, and smooth

In this V2, the F38 Quick Release Kit for backpacks adapts to most Arca-Swiss plates and the FALCAM Quick Release Camera Cage V2. FALCAM has not only improved the system’s base compatibility – we can also use the F38 in standard Arca-size products.

The F38 also adapts to most strap shapes thanks to a flexible lanyard buckle structure, and its circular backplane ensures the smooth handling of the strap, reducing hand fatigue in the long term. The installation of the Quick Release Kit works with a simple click, avoiding the use of screws or other tools. 

To ensure the system’s compatibility with different strap thicknesses, the F38 has three gears to adapt to your favorite backpack. 

Safety is one of the main concerns for filmmakers and photographers. Letting your expensive gear ‘float’ outside your hands is always a leap of faith. Besides the locking mode mentioned above, the F38 Quick Release Kit V2 comes with an anti-slip rubber pad to increase the strap’s friction and avoid deflection or slipping whilst walking or running. FALCAM has also included a safety system to lock the button and prevent it from an accidental push.

The lanyard rope is light, solid, and resistant, and it is made of 18-braiding Dyneema material, used in the parachute and aviation industry. FALCAM has included a color-code wear warning system on the rope, advising us when to change it.
