Atomos Firmware for Ninja & Shogun Adds Dropbox and Dropbox Replay Upload Support

Atomos Firmware for Ninja & Shogun Adds Dropbox and Dropbox Replay Upload Support

A new firmware update has been released by Atomos for the Ninja and Shogun series of monitor-recorders. Firmware AtomOS 11.12.00 adds upload support for Dropbox and Dropbox Replay from the Atomos Connect menu. Let’s take a look!

The Atomos firmware 11.12.00 update for the Ninja and Shogun adds a key new feature: Support for uploading to Dropbox and Dropbox Replay. Additionally, you’ll be able to switch between folders/projects and Dropbox and Dropbox Replay. Here is how to set it up: From the Atomos Connect menu, you can select Dropbox or Replay in Direct Camera to Cloud targets, then upload projects/folders, whether new or existing.

Atomos Connect for the Ninja is a feature that is sold separately, and you’ll need it to connect and upload to Dropbox or Dropbox Replay. Visit their website to learn more and purchase.

Managing media is very important, and this new update makes it easy. The uploaded media is organized automatically into folders by Project name, device AID, date of recording, user device name, scene, shot, and take.

Here is a tutorial from Atomos on how it works:

Dropbox Replay – a cloud-based way to upload and review footage

Dropbox Replay is an excellent way to review footage, no matter where you’re filming. If a production is on location in Paris, the producers can quickly review dailies from Los Angeles. Replay supports videos, audio, images, PSD, and PDF projects up to 150 GB. Maximum video and audio length is 12 hours. Learn more about Dropbox Replay here.

It should be noted that Replay only allows for the reviewing of footage, not editing. The good news is it integrates well with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Avid Pro Tools.

While you’ll be able to use the new feature with a Dropbox Basic plan, it’s limited to what you’ll be able to do with it. To get the full features of the Atomos Ninja and Shogun upload to Dropbox and Dropbox Replay capability, you will need Dropbox Plus or higher. Additionally, there is a 40% discount on Dropbox Business or Business Plus special when buying a new Atomos Monitor. It’s happening now through November 30, 2024.
