Accsoon SeeMo Pro SDI Announced – Transform Your iOS Device Into a Production Monitor

Chinese manufacturer Accsoon has announced the SeeMo Pro SDI version of the popular HDMI to iOS video preview and capture SeeMo adapter. The new SeeMo Pro is a small box that fits between your camera and an iOS device. It features an SDI connection, monitoring, recording, and streaming features. The SeeMo Pro SDI adapter costs $349 and will be available in Summer 2023. Let’s have a closer look!

Accsoon SeeMo Pro SDI – features

The SeeMo Pro SDI version offers the same features as the original HDMI model, but now there are two additional SDI ports alongside the HDMI ports. You can send the video signal from your camera or any other SDI/HDMI video source to the adapter, and then via Lightning or USB-C cable to your iOS device.

The SeeMo Pro SDI runs off standard Sony NP-F style batteries or via a 2-pin DC connector. But this is the most important feature: it can also supply power to a connected iPad or iPhone for extending the operation times of your device! Additionally, it can charge other devices over USB-C operating as a power bank.

SeeMo Pro for iPhone or iPad

Using your phone as a monitor may seem unconventional when shooting with a professional video camera that has an SDI connection, as opposed to relying on a dedicated on-top camera monitor or EVF. Nevertheless, this adapter provides a smart solution to achieve a bigger production monitor. You might benefit from the high quality of the iPad screen you already own!

The free Accsoon SEE App has a variety of tools that you know from production monitors like waveform, magnification, vectorscope, false color, peaking, and audio level meters. Users can also apply custom LUTs, or use the onion skin image overlays. There are also options to de-squeeze anamorphic video on-screen or flip the video signal.

Record, share and stream

Another benefit is the versatile connectivity option that your iPhone or iPad already provides. Your iOS devices process your camera signal as if you were recording it directly with your iPhone or iPad. You can record an HD video signal via SeeMo Pro SDI up to 1080p60 8-bit in H.264 variable bitrate. Furthermore, you can also live stream to popular video-sharing platforms like YouTube and Facebook using RTMP directly from your iOS device. Edit, tag, stream, and share videos from your SDI camera as simply as if they were shot directly on your iPhone.

EVF solution

In the near future, the Zacuto Z-finder will be compatible with the Accsoon SeeMo Pro and SeeMo HDMI adapter to create an electronic viewfinder solution with your iPhone. If you want to know more about it, please read this article about the upcoming cooperation.

Switcher Studio

This month Accsoon and Switcher Studio have joined forces and announced that the SeeMo adapter is now integrated into Switcher Studio.
