Adobe and Western Digital Ditch NAB 2020

Western Digital and Adobe have joined a steadily growing list of companies including AJA, Nikon and Zaxcom who have decided to sit NAB 2020 out as concerns around Coronavirus Covid-19 continue to grow.

Adobe is officially pulling out of NAB 2020 and the company has released the following message to partners:

“Each year, we look forward to seeing our video community at NAB to talk about the industry and our product innovations. Over the past few weeks, we have been closely monitoring and evaluating the situation around COVID-19 and have made the difficult but important decision to cancel our presence at the show this year. While we are disappointed, the health and safety of our employees and customers is highest priority. We look forward to engaging with our NAB community through digital experience in the near future.”

And here is Western Digital’s announcement:

“The health and safety of our employees is a top priority for Western Digital. Due to concerns regarding the coronavirus, we have taken the precautionary measure to withdraw from participating in NAB 2020.”

Despite the concerns, NAB 2020 remains a go with nearly daily updates related to the virus landing on their website HERE.

The nervousness is also hitting other large shows hard: The Photography Show in the UK was postponed only five days before the event was scheduled to begin and SXSW 2020 was also just recently cancelled.

HERE are the CDC guidelines for prevention & treatment in the unlikely event you come in contact with the COVID-19 virus.

As we previously mentioned, the cinema5D team is ready to attend NAB to cover the show as usual. We’ll only not attend if the show is completely canceled, but in any case, we will find ways to report the news to our audience.
