The release of Canon’s new cinema camera marked a significant update in their professional video lineup. In response, ARRI, well-known for their professional camera accessories, has already released a support system designed specifically for the Canon EOS C400 Cinema Camera.
Support systems are only one of many tailored accessories that ARRI designs for professional cameras. Just a few days ago, Canon released their latest RF-mount cinema camera, and ARRI has been quick to offer a robust support system that should enhance the camera’s functionality and versatility for various production needs. Let’s take a closer look.

Gimbal, handheld, or studio?
While you can use Canon’s own handle, the ARRI modular top plate is specifically designed to be compatible with both the ARRI CCH-4 top handle and HEX handle extensions, as well as the Canon handle. This compatibility should allow for seamless transitions between setups.

NATO rail integration
The cage system features multiple mounting points, with side brackets designed to function as NATO rails. This design provides versatile mounting options and includes a safety release mechanism.

Base plate – fast and easy transitions
No tools are required to fit the adapters for the support system’s base plate. The rig slides out of a tripod dovetail and into a shoulder mount or gimbal in seconds, according to ARRI.

Fewer tools to carry
Compatible with Hex 3, 4, 5, or 5/32” screwdrivers, ARRI Multi-Hex screws allow you to adapt your camera on set without the need to carry an array of tools.
Price and availability
ARRI support systems will be available in 4 different sets – the Basic Cine Set, Pro Cine Set, Basic Broadcast Set, and the Pro Broadcast Set. No price information has been given yet. See the ARRI website for more details!
