BLUETTI AC50B Portable Power Station Released – $100 Off Until July 21st

BLUETTI AC50B Portable Power Station Released – $100 Off Until July 21st

BLUETTI has recently launched their latest portable power station, the AC50B. This new compact and lightweight model offers 700W of output, six power outlets (DC/AC/USB-C/USB-A), efficient charging, silent operation, app control via Bluetooth, and more. It is available for less than $300 until July 21st.

Fuel-based power generators have long been the go-to choice for filmmakers shooting in remote locations where portable electricity is the only option to fire up lights or recharge batteries. However, for certain applications, they’re starting to be replaced by “greener” battery power stations that offer the added benefit of quieter operation.

BLUETTI is one of the major players in this field, and while their products are already popular among campers and outdoor enthusiasts, they can easily find their way into the van of adventure filmmakers, too. So, let’s take a look at what the new BLUETTI AC50B has to offer!

BLUETTI AC50B portable power station – features

The new BLUETTI AC50B portable power station has a power output rated at 700W and a nominal peak power of 1,050W. At its core, a 448Wh LiFePO₄ battery can be charged using AC power (max 580W). According to BLUETTI, this allows you to charge up to 80% of its capacity in just 45 minutes or charge it entirely in 70 minutes. Alternatively, you can use a solar panel (max 200W) – like BLUETTI’s own PV120 – to fully charge the unit in about 2.5 hours.

Efficient charging and optimization of energy consumption are achieved thanks to an AI-powered BMS (Battery Management System), which also protects the power station from overcharging, over-discharging, short circuits, and overheating. When you’re not adventuring outdoors, you can also use the AC50B as UPS unit that kicks in in just 0.02s when a power outage occurs, thus helping protect your precious gear.

The unit integrates a front LCD color display to monitor its status and offers six different outlets to power or charge a wide range of devices, such as cameras, drones, or even small lights. These include:

  • 1x DC output (12V/10A)
  • 2x AC output sockets (120V/700W)
  • 2x USB-C outputs (65W)
  • 1x USB-A output (15W)

Most importantly, the power station is reasonably compact and lightweight, weighing only 6.7kg/14.8 lbs. It also has an integrated handle that makes it easy to carry around when shooting in remote scenarios.

While not completely silent, the unit is claimed to be fairly quiet (around 50dB) during operation, which can help when recording sound on location. Lastly, the AC50B is equipped with Bluetooth and can be controlled via the BLUETTI smartphone app (iOS/Android). This allows you to control and monitor battery status, power consumption, updates, and more.

Price and availability

The new BLUETTI AC50B portable power station is already available on Amazon US. Its official retail price is set at $399.

However, the company is running a Prime Day Sale on their website until July 21st, so you can get your hands on the AC50B at an early-bird price of $299 (or $498 when purchasing the AC50B bundled with their PV120 solar panel). Finally, please keep in mind that BLUETTI Prime Day discounts also apply to other models, including some of their flagship generators, such as:
