Played with a Canon 1D Mark IV Today.

I got my Hands on a 1D Mark IV for about two minuets today, long enough to take a photo. It is pretty cool to say the least. The camera was set up on a Glidecam Rig and was not that accessible.It has the same A/V output as a 7D and a mini HDMI out. I did get to play with it long enough to scroll around the menus and feel it. I was surprised how light it was. It seemed a bit flimsy, honestly.  The 1D has both a CF and SD card slot . Hot Swap anyone?

I’m not sold on it yet. At $5k it is not “Cheap” and It does not offer that much more than the 7D or the 5D Mark II.With the possible release of a 35 x 35 sensor 30 plus megapixel 1Ds around the bend. Upgrades to the 5D Mark II, and the ever elusive 3D. It could be worth waiting.
