Canon 5D mark III countdown: Preparations for Friday event

Canonrumors set the date for the announcement of the 5D mark II successor. After some leaked images popped up we’re now starting to see evidence for a mark 3 worthy event.

Invites point to Friday March 2nd, but there has been no official word about the 5D mk3 yet. For all we know this could simply be the announcement for a new PowerShot line, but it is very likely we’ll see more than that.

These photos show the preparations for the Shanghai event (more photos), but there will also be events in Paris and Singapore and probably several other big places as well. Exciting.

Last year Canon said they were working on a 4K HDSLR video camera. Is this the time already? What do you think the 5D mark III will bring?
