Cooke has announced the release of a new lens that completes the SP3 set. The Cooke SP3 18mm T2.4 has a close focus of 12.3cm from the lens front and a diagonal field of view of 99° when paired with full-frame sensors and 82° when used with S35 sensors, among other features. The new lens finally completes the 6-lens set based on the legendary Speed Panchros.

Cooke Optics is a British company manufacturing high-end cinema lenses used in all kinds of features and series like the recent Arcadian, Wonka, Comandante, Batman, Lupin, the Last of Us, and the list continues.
In September 2023, the company launched the SP3 series, based on the Speed Panchro, offering the legendary “Cooke look” while remaining relatively lightweight and of a usable size. The set, aimed at mirrorless cameras, closes with this new Cooke 18mm lens, which is also lightweight and suitable for gimbal and drone work thanks to its balanced weight distribution.
Cooke SP3 18mm T2.4 – First look and specs
The Cooke SP3 18mm T2.4 weighs 688 grams/1.5 lbs, has a maximum front diameter of 82mm, and a filter thread size of 77mm. Sharing the same maximum aperture of T2.4 with the other lenses in the set, the lens also comes with a native E-mount, and users can choose a second mount (RF, L, or M-mount, free of charge within 90 days of purchase).

The SP3 18mm is now available as a single lens for £3600 / €4,300 / $4995. The 6-lens set costs £18,850 / €22,600 / $25,995, and there is also a 3-lens set, including the 25mm, 50mm, and 100mm, retailing at £9250 / €11,100 / $12,800.
