DaVinci Resolve 19 Beta 6 Released

DaVinci Resolve 19 Beta 6 Released

Blackmagic Design has announced the release of DaVinci Resolve 19 Beta 6, improving the Davinci Public Beta with upgrades like support for Blackmagic RAW files from the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K and Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF cameras, among other upgrades. Let’s take a look at those!

It’s time for software upgrades in Blackmagic Design. Yesterday, we wrote about the Blackmagic Camera app for iOS 2.0, and today, the company announced DaVinci Resolve 19 Beta 6. But if we look at the rhythm with which the company updates their programs, the real news would be if there were no updates for several weeks. On this occasion, there are updates for the free and Studio versions.

New improvements in DaVinci Resolve 19 Beta 6

The new update now supports Blackmagic RAW footage, including files from the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K and Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF cameras, thereby expanding the number of cameras compatible with the popular NLE editor. The mouse speed when scrolling in the edit and deliver pages has also improved, matching the performance when using the cut page. Transitions are now retained when ripple deleting clips, saving us time when editing. If you are one of the editors that have had problems with different brightness values in your footage when using Davinci and other NLE systems, the update now defaults to full data range for rendering DNxHR 444 clips, which should solve this issue.

Davinci Studio and Fusion improvements

Davinci Studio users will benefit from this update since it now supports Dolby Vision metadata using Decklink 8K Pro G2. This feature lets users preview footage live on supported consumer displays color graded in Davinci Resolve using Dolby Vision.

Resolve FX film look creator now adds saturation controls for halation, allowing users to control the red-orange halo around the highlights.

This update also improves Fusion, with faster render speeds for larger compositions. Finally, Fusion Fuse examples are available in the developer documentation folder of the help menu.
