DJI at CES 2015 has been busy with 4 new releases. Announcing a 4K handheld camera, a thumb controller for the DJI Ronin, and new Drone gimbals for the Sony A7S and GoPro Hero 4 cameras.
First up is the handheld gimbal. DJI has taken the 4K camera from the newly released Inspire 1 Drone and put it in a handheld gimbal. It’s directly compatible with the Inspire, allowing you to switch between handheld and aerial configurations quickly.
It has a bracket on the side for adding your smartphone for live view, connecting via the current DJI app.
As a DJI Ronin user myself, next up is quite an exciting one. DJI promised this a while ago, so it’s nice to finally see a wireless thumb controller for the Ronin. The device is pressure sensitive, with an OLED display and can control pan, tilt and roll motions; it clips directly to the existing 30mm handlebar.
DJI has acknowledged the popularity of the Sony A7S camera for video and developed a new drone gimbal. Based on industry-standard Zenmuse technology the new 3-axis gimbal is specifically designed for Sony A7S, A7R and A7 II cameras.
Further more to drone gimbals, DJI has announced the new H4-3D gimbal for use with the GoPro Hero 4 on the DJI Phantom 2.
