edelkrone Vision Module for HeadPLUS v2 (and PRO) Coming Soon

edelkrone recently teased a new accessory specifically designed for its HeadPLUS v2 and HeadPLUS v2 PRO motion control systems: the edelkrone Vision Module. Ideal for one-man-band filmmakers, this add-on module allows you to precisely track and follow a subject. Let’s take a closer look at it!

A couple of months ago, edelkrone released an updated version two of its HeadPLUS motion control head. In short, the HeadPLUS v2 now has an LCD information screen, a physical On/Off button, additional marking points on the L-Bracket, and pan and folding angle lock pins. No change was done regarding the payload capacity of both heads: the HeadPLUS v2 can take a maximum of 10lbs/4.5kg, while the PRO version supports up to 20lbs/9kg.

To further expand the capabilities of its motion control system, edelkrone recently teased the Vision Module, which should be available soon.

edelkrone Vision Module – Features

There is very little information about the edelkrone Vision Module at the moment, but here is what we know so far:

  • The Vision Module is designed to track faces with “adjustable dynamics.”
  • It will be deeply integrated into the edelkrone App (available on both Android/iOS devices). Also, you’ll be able to monitor the live feed of your camera directly in the App.
  • Vision Module is only compatible with the HeadPLUS v2/HeadPLUS v2 PRO and not the previous models.
  • You’ll be able to adjust pan/tilt offsets of the tracked face.

And that’s pretty much everything we know at the moment. If you combine the edelkrone Vision Module with other company tools like the JibONE or SliderPLUS v5, you’ll be able to create very complex shots even if you’re alone. I guess it might be useful for YouTubers and one-man-band content creators.

Price and availability

We don’t know when the Vision Module will be released nor its price. As a side note, the HeadPLUS v2 retails for $1799.00/€1512 and $2299.00/€1931 for the PRO version, so I expect it to be in the $300-$500 range.
