Frii Designs TriLens Holder Now on Kickstarter

Frii Designs TriLens Holder Now on Kickstarter

Frii Designs has been marketing the TriLens holder for a while, and it recently went up on Kickstarter. Here is what it can do for you.

Trilens

Frii Designs has come up with an unusual product whose Kickstarter campaign is now online and already “over-funded”: a lens-holder you can carry on your hip. The TriLens holder, as its name states, can securely carry up to three lenses, and comes in three different mounts for Canon, Nikon or Sony. The Trilens is weather resistant and is designed to withstand loads up to 100kg.

The TriLens fastens to your belt via a clip that is curved to fit your body, and its wide base will “distribute the load evenly over your hip so you can shoot all day”. The housing can easily be removed and attached to the beltclip by using the spring loaded quick release.

The kit also includes magnetised mounts so you can attach your lens caps and avoid losing them during fast lens swaps. Here is a videoclip of how it all works:

Although ingenious, this may not be the best solution for the average filmmaker out there. To be honest, it looks weird, and having lenses on the side of your belt while you are shooting can only lead to absolute disaster. However, for studio or wedding photographers, this might be a nice gimmick to have, as being quick on the draw from your regular lens selection can improve your shooting speed. For more information, head over to the Kickstarter campaign or visit Frii Designs’ website.
