Godox Cube-C Wireless Microphone System Announced

Godox has unveiled the Cube-C Wireless Microphone System, a small and lightweight wireless mic system. It features 48 kHz / 24-bit high-quality audio recording with a Safety Track, up to 300m (984 ft) of stable transmission, up to 40 hours of battery life, dual-channel receiver, and more. Let’s dive in!

There are a wide variety of products from Godox, including lighting, audio, monitor, accessories, and other solutions for cinematography, video, photo, audio, and broadcast. The company recently released the KNOWLED MS60R / Bi-Color LED Lights and the Godox Cube-S Wireless Microphone System.

Godox Cube-C Wireless Microphone System – features

The new Godox Cube-C records 48 kHz / 24-bit audio hi-res audio (>70dB SNR and maximum 115 SPL) with a dedicated Safety Track at -6dB. It also offers both stereo and mono recording options and ALC technology (Automatic Level Control) to prevent clipping by dynamically managing peak sounds vs. cutting.

Additionally, the transmission type is a 2.4GHz Frequency Hopping System, with up to 300m (984 ft) of stable transmission. This is due to the high gain antenna, which augments the RF resistance.

The Cube-C also features omni-device compatibility, so it can be used with a wide variety of cameras, smartphones, tablets, and desktop and laptop computers. It provides a wireless solution for interviews, general film or video production, podcasting, live-streaming, YouTube, and more.

According to the company, out of the box, the Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX) each feature 10 hours of battery life, but the 2300mAh charging case can extend it up to 40 hours for continuous recording. This is especially useful for on-location or field shoots where there isn’t a nearby power source to recharge. It takes 1.5 hours to recharge.

And like the Cube-S, it is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry. The Transmitter measures 0.96″ x 0.98″ x 0.49″ and weighs 7g (0.25 oz) while the Receiver is 1.81″ x 1.14″ x 0.71″ and weighs only 5g (0.18 oz).

The Cube-C’s Transmitter can double as a remote controller, making it a handy feature. It has the ability to remotely control a smartphone camera’s shutter from up to 50m (164 ft) with the transmitter. Other features include 3-level volume adjustment, dual-mode noise reduction, and direct connectivity to a laptop or desktop computer.

However, a feature that is missing from the Godox Cube-C but found in the Cube-S is support for Apple’s Find My, which can help track the wireless mic system if it’s lost. Both Godox mics are very small and could be misplaced during load in and load out.
