Hobolite Avant Max and Mini Max Bi-Color LED Lighting Kits Announced

Hobolite Avant Max and Mini Max Bi-Color LED Lighting Kits Announced

Hobolite has announced two new LED bi-color lights that are now available to order in different kits: the Avant Max and the Avant Mini Max. Both fixtures are mainly targeted at content creators who need a portable yet attractive light with enough power to meet their needs in typical scenarios. Let’s see what these units offer!

Hobolite entered the market around one year ago by offering a series of LED lights for content creators, filmmakers, and photographers across a wide price range. In a saturated market with many brands offering similar product specs, Hobolite’s industrial design sets them apart from the competition. As usual, with these unique and particular aesthetic decisions, you either love it or hate it. Personally, I like this vintage design, especially when the specs match the look.

Hobolite Avant Max Standard and Creator lighting kits

The main bi-color unit fixture in the Avant Max Standard and Creator kits features 80W of power, 9005 lux at 3.3′ (6500K), a CCT from 2700K to 6500K, and dimming control from 0% to 100%.

The light is portable and lightweight, weighing approximately 2 lbs (.09kg) and 4.8 x 3.6 x 3.9in (12.19 x 9.14 x 9.91 cm), and it comes in retro brown or midnight black colors with faux leather details. Regarding color accuracy, it features a CRI and TLCI rating of 96, according to the company. The vintage design mixes with modern features such as an LCD screen, Bluetooth, and NFC tap support. You can control the fixture with the Hobolite app (available for iOS and Android) from 65.6′.

Another handy feature is the magnetic mounting system for color gels. Both kits include a detachable 99Wh battery pack, an AC dual port adapter, an Avant Max lens that intensifies the light output up to 9005 lux at 3.3′ (6500K), a 100W power supply, a D-tap cable, and an AC cord. The difference between the kits is that the Avant Max Creator includes a Max Barndoor Set with color gels and a V-mount clamp, suiting those who need more control and options in their setups.

The battery pack will give users 1.3 hours of light at maximum brightness, 3 hours at half intensity and 11 hours at 10% brightness, and it can also power other devices.

Hobolite Avant Mini Max Standard, Creator and Travel lighting kits

The Avant Mini Max is even lighter and more portable than the Avant Max. It features a unit with a 20º-50º lens and 40W output at 7325 lux at 3.3′ (6500K). It comes in three kits: Standard, Creator and Travel. The Standard and Creator packages share a 99Wh battery, the Mini Max lens, the Max handle, a USB-C cable, and a 65W power adapter. In addition to that, the Creator kit includes a Max Barndoor Set with color gels and an AC dual port adapter. Finally, the Travel kit has an AC dual port adapter, a Mini Max lens, a Max LiteDock with a USB-C cable, color gels, a frosted dome, and a 65W power adapter. However, it does not include the 99Wh battery mentioned in the previous kits, relying instead on the Max LiteDock’s 3450 mAh power bank.
