Today, on the first day of IBC 2012 Blackmagic announced a second version of the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. This version is identical to the EF version except it has an Passive Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mount, which offers a much wider range of adapter compatibility to allow for other lens mounts, PL among many others.
This is great news and shows that Blackmagic is actually listening to their customers as the limitation to EF was one very big concern over the last months since the product was initially announced.
The MFT mount version will retail for the same price as the original at $2995 and is already available for pre-order:
Expected availability is December 2012.
