iFootage Shark Slider Nano 2 Firmware Update - Adds Multi-Target Function and More

iFootage has just released a firmware update for their Shark Slider Nano 2, which gives you more control over your slider moves by allowing you to adjust the speed and delay between multiple sliding points. This firmware update also adds a multi-target function, enabling you to register up to four subjects and switch between them with just one tap, a handy feature when shooting interviews or podcasts. So, let’s take a closer look at it!

Chinese manufacturer iFootage released the Shark Slider Nano 2 during IBC 2024, and it made quite some waves at launch. Indeed, this entirely revamped version of the company’s original Shark Slider has a maximum payload of 7kg/15.4lbs horizontally and 3.5kg/7.7lbs vertically; it now has a built-in touchscreen to control the slider, and you can power it via a Sony NP-F style battery or USB-C via a PD power bank with a 60W output capacity. Two versions of the Shark Slider Nano 2 are available: a short one that measures 46cm/18in and a long one that is 66cm/26in.

As I mentioned, you can control the Shark Slider Nano 2 via the built-in touchscreen, but you can also control it via your iOS/Android smartphone and the free iFootage Moco App. The App allows you to control the slider and perform firmware updates wirelessly, which is very handy.

With the latest iFootage Shark Slider Nano 2 firmware update, the company added a couple of new features, including:

  • Customize motor speed and hold time: you can set a hold time between 0 to 60 seconds between different points. This allows you to customize your camera’s movement.
  • Multi-target function: you can set up to four different targets/subjects with different in and out points. Then, you can switch between the targets with a single tap on the slider’s touchscreen or within the App. This is especially useful for interview setups and podcast recordings.

Only a couple of months after the release of the iFootage Shark Slider Nano 2, it’s nice to see that the company is already putting some work into launching a new firmware update to improve the product.
