Ignite Digi has recently unveiled the Control Deck for DJI Transmission, an advanced remote controller that seamlessly integrates with DJI’s Transmission ecosystem, offering a professional interface to take full control over your DJI gimbal as well as focus, iris, zoom, and more.

Launched two years ago, DJI Transmission is one of the most complete wireless ecosystems on the market, combining low-latency wireless video transmission with gimbal, FIZ, and camera control. However, the design of this system may still require some “getting used to,” especially for operators accustomed to other types of controllers.

As a result, Australian company Ignite Digi came up with the Control Deck for DJI Transmission, which you can somewhat think of as a Mōvi Controller, just designed for your DJI gimbal or drone. Let’s take a closer look at it!

Ignite Digi Control Deck for DJI Transmission – features

The Ignite Digi Control Deck is built around a professional control panel that is compatible with the DJI Transmission system, thus allowing you to remotely control camera movement on the DJI Ronin 2 and RS3/RS4 Pro gimbals as well as on the Inspire 3 or Ronin 4D.

The system is offered in two different bundles – Complete or Core – and is designed so that a single battery can power the controller, the DJI High Bright Monitor, and even additional camera accessories. A user-interchangeable battery plate is included in each kit, and you can choose between 4 battery options – TB50, TB51, V-mount, or Gold mount.

The controller features a large screen to display settings as well as physical knobs, buttons, and a 3-axis joystick for gimbal, FIZ, run/stop, iris control, and more. Particularly, the joystick supports 3 different modes with linear, squared, or cubic response, thus offering granular control over camera movement.

On the back of the device, we can find a 6-pin DC-IN port (11-17V) that can be used to supply power to the unit using the 90W power adapter (only included in the Complete kit), as well as two 2-pin LEMO outputs to power accessories, a Transmission port to pass power and data to the DJI High Bright Monitor, as well as a recessed USB-C PD output (30W).

While the USB-C port can be used to charge mobile devices on set, it was actually designed with a different purpose in mind. Indeed, a USB-C-powered flashlight with daylight-balanced output, 650 lumens, a CRI of 90+, and 4 levels of brightness is included in the kit to light the controller when operating in dim environments. This testifies to the level of finesse that Ignite Digi put into developing this product.

Moreover, the company designed a sturdy monitor mount, called Pro-Workflow Monitor Mount (only included in the Complete Kit), with a 4-inch NATO rail that allows you to reposition the monitor horizontally. The whole structure attaches to the controller via the “Cheese Block” and can be folded to take up less space during storage.

The Complete Kit also includes a high-end wheeled hard case with a custom foam insert that can perfectly fit a fully-rigged Control Deck setup. As demonstrated by Ignite Digi, this allows you to be up and running in less than a minute.

The new Ignite Digi Control Deck for DJI Transmission is now available to order from the company’s website. The Complete kit retails for about €5.198, while the Core bundle is priced at about €3.798. The system should start shipping this month.
