ZHIYUN, a Chinese manufacturer known for their gimbals, released two small LED lights: the MOLUS G60 and the MOLUS X100. Both fixtures are now available and can be purchased in various combos. The MOLUS G60 starts retailing at $199, the MOLUS X100 starts at $269. So, let’s take a closer look at the two new LED fixtures.

MOLUS G60 – 60 Watts output
The new MOLUS G60 has an output of 60 Watts and when it comes to size, the small LED film light should fit in every camera bag. The body is only 9×6.6×6.6cm / 3.57×2.6×2.6in and weighs only 300gr / 10.6oz. This is as small as a Rubik’s Cube and fits in your hand.
The MOLUS G60 includes a multi-voltage AC adapter, a power adapter organizer bag, and a reflector. With an optional USB-C charging cable, you can use the fixture to quickly power an optional attached battery for wireless use.
The MOLUS G60 has a variable color range of 2700 to 6500K with high CRI/TLCI 96/97 ratings and dims from 0 to 100%. Color and brightness can be adjusted with two buttons on the back and a small LCD screen, or you can make changes wirelessly using Zhiyun’s ZY Vega app.
The MOLUS G60 includes the DynaVort Cooling System with heat sinks and FOC fans to prevent overheating. According to the company, DynaVort technology should raise the cooling efficiency through intelligent control over airflow emissions. But as with every new light fixture, the cooling system must be tested in real-world conditions to see if the fan noise interferes with a shooting setup.
While the MOLUS G60 comes with all the necessary accessories like a mini reflector and a dome diffuser, Zhiyun also offers a combo kit to increase the light potential. In addition to the reflector and diffuser, the kit includes a mini tripod, a Bowens mount adapter, and a mini softbox with a grid.

MOLUS X100 – 100 Watts output
The new MOLUS X100 is a bi-color light and has an output of 100W. With two buttons on the side, the brightness and color temperature can be adjusted from 2.700 to 6.500K, and it dims from 0 to 100%. It has a small LCD screen to show the current settings or you can make all necessary changes by using ZHIYUN’s ZY Vega app.
The compact MOLUS X100 has a unique design for an LED fixture, and you can attach several different lighting modifiers to it. It can be powered by DC or an optional X100 grip battery that attaches directly to the fixture. The proprietary battery has a run time of only 30 minutes and a charging time of 2,5 hours. You can also power the light with a USB-C charging cable, but they recommended using a PD fast charger with input over 100W.
