Teradek has just announced the latest and most-affordable addition to their popular zero-latency series, the Bolt 4K LT HDMI. This HDMI-only model features support for 10-bit HDR signals up to 4K30, a maximum operating range of 228m/750ft, zero-delay, cross-compatibility with other Bolt 4K devices, and Bluetooth LE connectivity. It is now available for pre-order for $1,990.

After releasing the LT MAX model last year, the leading wireless video technology manufacturer is now introducing a new family member to their popular zero-latency 4K Bolt ecosystem, the Teradek Bolt 4K LT HDMI.

This model is the most budget-friendly option in the ever-growing wireless ecosystem. Built on the legacy of the old ACE 500 model, this new entry offers a longer operating range, 4 times the resolution, smarter features, and seamless integration with other family members. Teradek Bolt 4K LT HDMI: overview

As the name suggests, the new Teradek Bolt 4K LT HDMI is an HDMI-only wireless video system consisting of a transmitter (TX) and a receiver (RX) that support video inputs/outputs up to 4K60. According to the company, the two units can communicate seamlessly over a maximum distance of 230m/750ft (line-of-sight).

The high-quality signal supports 10-bit 4:2:2 HDR up to 4K30. A single transmitter can simultaneously distribute this signal to 6 different receivers without compromising image quality and stability.

As part of the Bolt 4K series, this new model is cross-compatible with other family members and benefits from Teradek’s zero-latency transmission technology. The lack of even the smallest, but still annoying delay will make any focus puller happy!

Furthermore, the units come packed with Bluetooth LE connectivity which ensures compatibility with the Bolt Manager App (available for both iOS and Android). From their smartphone/tablet, users can easily pair the units, monitor the wireless signal, and apply LUTs to the video output. Finally, the Bolt 4K LT HDMI is designed to work in combination with SmallHD Smart 7 monitors for wireless camera control.

This newly-released model features the same sleek, stylish design as its siblings. Both units have a rugged all-aluminum body with multiple mounting options (1/4”-20 and M3) as well as an OSD screen with navigation buttons on the side.

The dual-antenna TX is quite compact, measuring 60x103x33mm/2.4×4.1×1.3” in size and weighing only 206g/7.3oz. Its I/O and power connections include HDMI in, HDMI Loop-Out, 2-pin DC in (6-28V), 5-pin Locking Connector CCU, and USB.

On the other hand, the RX is a little larger (122x94x27mm/4.8×3.7×1”) and heavier (292g/7.3oz). It features 5 removable antennas on the top as well as HDMI, USB, CCU, and 2-pin DC on the side. Moreover, an optional Gold/V-mount plate can be attached to the back of the receiver.

Price and availability

The new Teradek Bolt system is now available for pre-order from B&H and CVP. Its official retail price is $1,990. The TX and RX are also available to purchase separately for $1,090 each. Finally, the company offers ready-made Gold/V-mount Deluxe Kits that are both priced at $2,290.
