Burgers squeeze a lot of stuff into a round flat thing. Maybe Erik Widding has picked up this idea and that’s why his device is called Birger. Wether that connection does or does not exist you can debate in the comments, fact is: The Birger Mount squeezes a lot into a mount adapter, as it will not only mount your EOS lenses to an FS-100 camera, but also work as a wired or wireless follow focus device. The Birger Mount uses your Canon lenses’ built in stepper motor to control focus accurately.
We’ve seen a similar approach to use the lens motor instead of a follow focus device on the okii focus controller which is also being discussed in the forums.
The Birger Engineering company has created a similar mount to get EF lenses on RED cameras about 2 years ago.
The Birger Mount for the Panasonic AF-100 is set for a release at the end of May.
According to Erik the mount for the Sony FS-100 will have the same featureset and could be available by the end of summer.
