The new NANLITE Forza 720 and 720B are the most powerful fixtures in the company’s series of spotlights. They are respectively a daylight-balanced and a bi-color fixture (2700-6500K) with a power consumption of 800W. Both lights are 100% dimmable, sport a metal construction, and have Bluetooth/2.4GHz/DMX/RDM capabilities. Pricing starts at $1649.
NANLITE has been particularly active recently, with a new lighting product released every week. We already covered the newborn PavoBulb 10C and PavoTube T8-7X and now it’s time to welcome the new NANLITE Forza 720 and 720B.
These new fixtures join the already available Forza 60/60B, 150, 200, 300/300B, and 500, offering an even more powerful option. Inheriting the legacy of the other members of the family, the new Forza 720 and 720B also showcase improved design and build quality. Let’s take a closer look.
NANLITE Forza 720 and 720B: overview
The NANLITE Forza 720 and 720B are two Bowens-mount COB LED spotlight fixtures with a power draw of 800W. Developed over the last 3 years, these bright headlights are the most powerful of the Forza series. They can output up to 124.000 (Forza 720) and 84.460 (Forza 720B) lux at a 1-meter distance when using the included 45° reflector. Both lights are dimmable from 1 up to 100% of their intensity in precise 0.1 increments.

While the 720 model is a daylight-balanced fixture, the color temperature of the 720B ranges from 2700-6500K. This CCT spectrum is in line with other lighting products available on the market nowadays and it should be fine for most applications.

The two versions also differ in their color accuracy, with the 720B outperforming its sibling by a tiny bit. Indeed, the Forza 720B has a CRI 96/TLCI 97 rating, while the daylight 720 version scores CRI 95/TLCI 96. Nonetheless, both products should provide a good color rendition.
NANLITE Forza 720B: two operating modes
The manufacturer equipped the bi-color version with two different operating modes. The Maximum Output mode focuses on intensity, providing the maximum brightness for each individual CCT level. On the other hand, the Constant Output mode ensures the intensity level stays the same when the color temperature varies.

Design, power, cooling, and control
According to NANLITE, the design of the Forza 720 and 720B has been improved compared to other fixtures in the same family. The two spotlights share a rugged metal construction and so do their relative control boxes. Moreover, the Bowens mount ensures large compatibility with third-party lighting accessories.

The fixtures can draw power from the included AC/DC adapter or from 14.8V/26V V-lock batteries. However, when relying on battery bricks, the output is limited to about 70-65% for 26V cells and around 40% for 14.8V.

Since the bright output necessarily produces heat, the light heads have a silent built-in cooling system (20dB) to dissipate it. The fans are controllable and can be turned off when recording sound on location.
A good amount of flexibility is also provided when controlling the lights. Indeed, users can rely on the onboard buttons of the control box or the NANLINK APP. The latter also gives access to a set of built-in lighting effects (including flash, pulse, storm, paparazzi, firework, TV, candle, fire, and more). The Forza 720 and 720B come equipped with Bluetooth, 2.4G, DMX, and RDM connectivity.
