NANLITE has announced four new travel kits: the Forza 300 II and 500 II Daylight Kits, and the Forza 300B II and 500B II Bi-Color Kits. Each kit will include two lights with a 55-degree reflector, a control unit with V-mount battery plates, a quick-release clamp, Bowens mount, and a power cord for each light, all delivered in a sturdy trolley case with built-in wheels. Let’s have a look!

The NANLITE Forza Daylight Kit – features

The Daylight kits feature either two 300 II or 500 II monolights. The color temperature is set at 5600K, and the lights’ Green/Magenta shift is adjustable by +/- 80. The 300 II has 11 effects and the 500 II has 12 effects that can be customized and saved as presets with the free NANLINK app.

The NANLITE Forza Bi-Color Kit – features

The Bi-Color kits feature either two 300B II or 500B II monolights. Both models have an adjustable color temperature from 2700K to 6500K, with a Green/Magenta adjustment of +/- 80. These lights were upgraded in January 2023, and you can read more about the upgrades here. Both lights have 12 effects customizable as presets with the NANLINK app.

All kits include…

All the kits include a 55° reflector, a control unit with V-mount battery plates, a power cord, and a super clamp for each light. The versatile quick-release clamp is compatible with round or square stands and trusses. There is a long 19.8′ power cable and a 9.8′ head cable for each light. The carrying case has built-in wheels.

More about the lights

There are 4 fan speeds: SMART, FULL SPEED, LOW SPEED, and OFF (for complete silence). All lights are dimmable from 0-100%.

The fanless Control Unit has an OLED display and a lock button. Several methods are available for controlling the lights: Onboard control, Bluetooth control via the NANLINK app, and they also support DMX/RDM, and 2.4 GHz for the WS-RC-C2 Remote Control and WS-TB-1 Transmitter Box (both sold separately).

The lights run on AC and can operate with either one or two optional batteries for quick shoots (using two batteries will give you 100% brightness, with 45% brightness using one battery). They can also be powered with optional V-mount 14.4V-14.8V batteries (the battery plates are located on the side of the Control Unit). Finally, there is a USB-A port for firmware updates by flash drive.

Alternatives to the Forza kits

Although these are not travel kits per se, you could put together your own. There are some good light alternatives from Aputure, including the Aputure LS C300d II Daylight or the Aputure LS 300x Bi-Color. However, there is no doubt that you save some cash when you purchase the Forza lights as a kit, and you get a solid trolly as well.

Price and availability

The kits can be pre-ordered now at the following prices:

  • Forza 300 II Daylight kit is priced at $1709, and the 500 II Daylight kit is $2480.
  • Forza 300B II Bi-Color kit is priced at $1799, and the 500B II Bi-Color kit is $2760.
