Nanlux Evoke 900C LED RGBLAC Spotlight Explained
Nanlux introduced the new Evoke 900C, a 940W LED RGBLAC spotlight with a CCT range of 1800-20,000K, multiple color modes, adjustable green and magenta, and an output of 12,940 lux at 3m/10ft. The spotlight will be available in three different kits with different accessories and flight cases, starting with the travel kit for $4,660. We had the chance to meet with Ron Sill from Nanlux on the floor of the NAB 2023 to hear about the Evoke 900C. Let’s have a closer look.
LED light fixtures around 900W are rare, sitting right between the 600W and the larger 1200W lights. If you are not familiar with the company’s 1200W fixtures, please check out our reviews of the Nanlux Evoke 1200 and the Evoke 1200B bi-color.

Nanlux Evoke 900C – features
Chinese lighting manufacturer Nanlux introduced the first full-color LED spotlight that uses the RGBLAC technology, which means it features six different types of LED chips: Red, Green, Blue, Lime, Amber and Cyan. The Evoke 900C is purported to have a CRI/TLCI of over 96, an SSI at 5,600K of 73, and an SSI at 3,200K of 81. It has a CCT range from 1,800K to 20,000K, with plus and minus green and magenta adaption of 200.
In color mode, you can modify the 151 GEL modes to create the specific look you need for your shot. You modify the HSI, RGBW, XY coordinates, and you can use 15 different built-in effects, including Hue/CCT/Int loops, pulse, storm, police car, TV, flash, disco, and many more. Although the fixture has a built-in fan, the Evoke 900C operates at a noise level of only 25dB, according to Nanlux.
Lighting People – On Location

Size and weight
Not lightweight or very portable, it is clearly designed for larger projects with a light and gaffer crew. We are talking about 33x24x21cm/13×9,5×8,3in only for the light head, with a weight of 9,54kg/21lbs, and another 4,5kg/9,92lbs for the external power supply.

Connectivity
The Evoke 900C features a 3.5-inch color display on the rear side, and all settings can be adjusted using three knobs and four buttons. But apart from the old-fashioned on-board approach, you can connect to the fixture using the following wireless control methods:
- DMX/RDM
- Art-Net/sACN
- LumenRadio CRMX
- WS-RC-C2 (optional)
- Nanlink App
