NANLUX has introduced an addition to their line of accessories specifically designed for the Evoke series of LED spotlights: the NL Mount Projection Attachment 15-30°. The attachment produces a well-controlled beam of light and provides precise optical control over zoom, focusing, cutting, and gobo projection. Optical capabilities and flexible control

According to the company, NANLUX’s NL Mount Projection Attachment 15-30° optical system is designed to control light loss, chromatic aberration, and distortion while achieving high beam uniformity (78% uniformity and 0.88% distortion measured at 3m with a 15° beam angle).

Using the Evoke 900C as an example of the Projection Attachment’s capabilities, the company says its advanced precision optical lens can deliver up to 7.5 times the illuminance of the standalone light (2.5 times the illuminance when used with a reflector). It achieves 32,720 lux at 3 meters with a 15° beam angle and a color temperature of 5600K. At the same distance and with a beam angle of 30°, the 900C achieves 19,090 lux.

Designed for a smooth and continuous beam-angle adjustment, the lens barrel can extend and retract without being restricted to specific focal lengths. An added advantage on set is that the illumination spread can be controlled without moving the lights. Instead of pushing the lens barrel, the light beam is focused and defocused by rotating the zoom ring.

Strong, portable, and stable

The Projection Attachment weighs under 12kg/26.45 lbs and is composed of aluminum alloy and highly durable nylon. The materials are heat-resistant, and there is a passive cooling system. As for stability, the yoke’s 15° offset design allows for a greater downward angle on a light stand. Further protection for the attachment comes in the shape of protective covers, an eyebolt on the barrel and yoke for attaching a safety cable, and a fastening knob to help limit movement and swaying when the attachment is tilted downward. Finally, the Projection Attachment ships in a sturdy flight case with impact-resistant corner bumpers and internal linings.

Light shaping with the NANLUX Projection Attachment 15-30°

The lens barrel can rotate 90 degrees to adjust the beam angle without moving the shutter or gobo. Each shutter can be adjusted independently. The 18-blade iris diaphragm creates a rounded beam shape, and a built-in rod can be used to adjust and lock in the beam size.
