PolarPro Osmo Action Collection – ND’s and Pola for the DJI Osmo Action Camera

The PolarPro Osmo Action Collection is a range of precision ND filters and a polarizer for the DJI Osmo Action Camera.

Small cameras are often overlooked when it comes to filtration. PolarPro have been on the cutting edge of small camera filtration whether a drone camera, action camera or even a smartphone.

The new range of filters for the DJI Osmo Action (watch our review here) camera have some interesting features. A magnetic hot swap system allows quick removal and change of filter without unthreading the base. They have 16-layers of various anti-reflective, anti-scratch, and anti-oil/water coatings. The filter system is splash proof but isn’t made to be used underwater.

The new filters can be bought in various sets for different needs and different budgets. As with the other ranges of PolarPro filters, they are available in combination ND/PL and ND, and have a lifetime warranty.

Cinematographers Collection

The PolarPro Cinematographers Collection set consists of all ten filters available. ND4/PL, ND8/PL, ND16/PL, ND32/PL, ND64/PL, ND4, ND8, ND16, ND32, ND64

Vivid 5-Pack – Cinema Series

The Vivid 5-Pack contains the combination ND/PL filters and will set you up for exposure control in any lighting conditions. It includes the ND4/PL, ND8/PL, ND16/PL, ND32/PL and ND64/PL filters.

Vivid 3-Pack – Cinema Series

The Vivid 3-Pack is an essentials kit that contains ND/PL combination filters to start you out. It contains the ND4/PL, ND8/PL and ND16/PL only.

Shutter 5-Pack – Cinema Series

The Shutter 5-Pack contains a full set of straight ND filters. If you’re most concerned with exposure control only and not worried about having the Polarizer, this set will give you the ND4, ND8, ND16, ND32 and ND64.

Shutter 3-Pack – Cinema Series

The Shutter 3-Pack is a an essentials ND only kit including the ND4, ND8 and ND16.

Circular Polarizer – Cinema Series

This is a circular polarizer only and gives you control over glare and reflections. As with the ND/PL combination filters, this filter can be rotated to adjust the polarization angle.

Exposure Control

ND filters and a polarizer are essential for any camera, especially for an action camera when you want to control exposure and record the best possible image quality under a variety of light conditions. Remember that these cameras have a fixed aperture, so there is no stopping down the iris to control light. ND filters allow you to control shutter speed in bright conditions.
