PRODUCER Mark II Launched - Celebrates Milestone of Nearly 10,000 Users

PRODUCER is launching their Mark II update as the program is about to reach 10,000 users. Launched originally in April 2023, the update adds new features that enhance project management and collaboration for video production crews of all sizes. Among those improvements are a Project Calendar, enhanced status updates, step assignments, the possibility to add external links, and more. Let’s take a look at PRODUCER Mark II!

If you’re unfamiliar with PRODUCER, it’s an all-in-one production software that provides creators with the tools needed for the entire production process, from initial concept to final delivery. The program gives users solid project management, collaboration tools, and integrated review functionalities. As Xaver Walser, CEO of PRODUCER, said: “A painkiller for filmmakers.” In case you missed it, we published PRODUCER’s test and first look and wrote about the real-world testing by MXR Productions. Now, with the platform reaching 10,000 users, the Mark II version is here.

PRODUCER Mark II – new features

Thanks to the new PRODUCER Project Calendar, teams can see an entire project in one go. This new feature offers a visual representation of the project, making project management more intuitive and helping teams quickly identify potential problems, bottlenecks, etc. The Project Calendar is still in Beta and will be released soon. Users can join the beta tester community to provide feedback by writing to Patrick(at)the-producer.io.

The new “status updates” feature gives a clear overview of project progress. Users can choose from six status options: “Not Started,” “In Progress,” “On Hold,” “Needs Review,” “Changes Requested,” and “Approved. ” This streamlines communication and improves collaboration between teams and clients throughout the review and approval stages.

Nearly 10k users is a great pool of knowledge for us in product development. We are lucky to receive high level feedback from power users that help us focus on the most needed features. Project Calendars, Status updates and Task Assignments were definitely the highest priority, especially for our SME and Corporate clients, but the development roadmap has a lot more fantastic additions coming.

With step assignments, you can assign any task to any person inside the project, which helps you to know who is doing what. You can also add external links and calculate budgets with one click, adding a direct link to Google Sheets, cloud storage files, websites, and other resources to the project. Finally, PRODUCER Mark II has many UI and UX improvements, like the option to duplicate existing projects, multi-field editing, list views with tags, simplified guest invitations, and more.

Price and availability

PRODUCER Mark II is now available to all existing and future subscribers. Annual subscriptions start at $25/month, and monthly subscriptions for one user start at $29/month, with 50 GB storage. For more information, visit the PRODUCER—Maker Machina website
