Attendees of the RED Release Party Sound Off On Why They Love Scarlet

By now you’re probably familiar with the the initial reactions to the release of the RED Scarlet.  Although Canon left most people feeling a bit unfulfilled with the release of their C300, C300PL and the other camera with no name, most people were in agreement that the Scarlet is as ground breaking in features as it is in price.  Rod Clark of HDSLRShooter had an opportunity to visit with attendees of Scarlet’s coming out party.  Here’s what he had to say about the event and the Scarlet:

“Jim Jannard navigated the technical difficulties with class. As he began the presentation the wireless microphone began cutting out intermittently, so he ditched the mic and addressed the crowd directly.”  The features were great, but it was the price that caused a physical reaction to the crowd.  Rod continues, “There was a collective gasp when they announced the $9750 price. A 4K camera, that shoots REDCODE RAW, with a Mysterium-X sensor, and ships this month for under ten grand??”   Check out Rod’s video for more from the event that stole Canon’s thunder.
