Samyang 35mm 1.4 – 390€ ($499) [UPDATEDx2]

If you saw the news piece about the Zeiss 35mm 1.4 yesterday there’s a chance you’re turned off by it’s pretty hefty pricetag of $1843.

Here’s another lens that has the same focal length and same F-Stop. [UPDATE] It has no AF motor built in. It just came out two weeks ago and is quite affordable. Polish company Samyang is happy with only 390€ of your cash!!!

This is by far the most affordable 35mm 1.4 lens there is. The Canon version is still $1470 and it looks like the Samyang has about twice the focus-ring-rotation-range the Canon has.

I can’t tell you anything about the quality of this piece of glass but there’s a whole thread with people going crazy about the lens on the forum here.
