SANDMARC has just released a new, interesting accessory for iPhone filmmakers: the Creator Grip. This grip is compatible with iPhone 4 to 15 Plus and most Android smartphones. It is made entirely of aluminum and clamps to your smartphone within seconds. San Diego-based manufacturer SANDMARC has been creating smartphone and camera accessories for over a decade. We recently reported about the company’s 58mm and 100mm macro lenses for iPhone shooters, and they are now back with a pretty cool accessory for iPhone and Android smartphones: the Creator Grip.
SANDMARC Creator Grip – features
The SANDMARC Creator Grip measures 3.5 x 5.5 x 2.5″/7.62 x 12.7 x 5.1cm for a weight of 10oz/283.5g. This grip is relatively heavy for one primary reason: it is made entirely out of aluminum, which should ensure long durability.
The grip attaches to the back of your smartphone, and it is compatible with nearly every phone on the market, from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 15 Plus and most Android smartphones. Once attached, the handle can rotate to switch from portrait to landscape mode easily.
The handle features a Bluetooth capture/shutter button that can start/stop your smartphone’s camera App. This Bluetooth trigger button also works in photo mode.
The Creator Grip has a removable strap handle so you don’t unintentionally drop your smartphone rig.
You’ll find two cold shoe mounts to attach accessories at the top and bottom of the SANDMARC Creator Grip. Furthermore, it has a 1/4″-20 thread at the bottom if you need to mount your smartphone onto a tripod.
