Shure MV7i Smart Microphone + Interface Announced

Shure MV7i Smart Microphone + Interface Announced

At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Shure introduced the MV7i Smart Microphone featuring a built-in audio interface, a first for an XLR microphone. It provides a complete solution for content creators, musicians, streamers, podcasters, and others, who need to connect a second XLR microphone for two-channel recording without the need for an external hardware interface. Let’s take a closer look!

Shure has been providing a variety of audio solutions for content creators, musicians, and others, for nearly a century. Their products range from a variety of microphones to mixers, earphones, software, and other accessories.

Shure MV7i Smart Microphone + Interface – features

When recording a two-person interview or podcast, the double mic setup requires an additional mixer before running it into a camera, mobile device, or computer. The Shure MV7i Smart Microphone + Interface eliminates the need for that separate mixer for two-channel recording. For musicians, an additional instrument can be connected. It also features 48V of phantom power.

The new Shure MV7i Smart Microphone + Interface has many of the same features found in the MV7 and MV7+ USB microphones and adds a built-in audio interface. It comes with an XLR-1/4-inch mic/instrument/line input with 48V phantom power and 60dB gain.

The full list of features includes:

  • XLR-1/4” input for mic/line/instrument with 60dB gain and 48V phantom power.
  • Records in 48 kHz / 24-bit high-quality audio.
  • The ability to record two channels at once.
  • Can handle SPLs up to 128dB with 50 Hz to 16 kHz frequency response.
  • Unidirectional cardioid pattern to minimize room pickup.
  • Onboard DSP (Digital Signal Processing).
  • Color LED screen.
  • Headphone jack.
  • USB cable and integrated mount included.
  • Works with Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android.
  • Auto Level Mode with SmartGate Technology: This will calibrate gain automatically based on volume, proximity, and the dynamics of a room. When a subject is silent, it will also reduce the channel’s volume to eliminate any disruptions of the separate audio streams.
  • Digital Popper Stopper: Ensures clear audio by eliminating plosive sounds without the need for a physical pop screen.
  • Real-Time Denoiser: Reduces ambient noises.
  • Adjustable Reverb: Three reverb types are available for different environments.

Additionally, the MV7i integrates with the MOTIV mobile app, which connects to a mobile device via USB and records two separate channels into the app of choice.

There is also support with the MOTIV Mix desktop app, which allows for access to up to five multi-track recording and routing channels plus adjusting and fine-tuning gain, sound signature, etc. The LED panel is also customizable. It comes with three output configurations that can be selected upon launch:

  • Mixdown Mode: Combined mic and mono input audio into a single mono audio output.
  • Multi-Track Mode: Creates two separate mono audio tracks with the mic and XLR-1/4” input.
  • Stereo Mode: Combines microphone and stereo input into one stereo audio track.

Price and availability

The Shure MV7i Smart Microphone + Interface is available now and retails for $349. Keep in mind that the MV7i eliminates the need for a separate audio interface, which is an additional cost. Learn more here
