We already reported about the much-anticipated Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art lens (click here), the first modern auto-focus zoom lens with an f-stop of 1.8.
Because of its incomparable speed we were ready for a relatively high price tag, even though it’s a Sigma lens. But it turns out that Sigma decided to surprise us – it will be available in July and will cost only $799 (you can already preorder it at B&H by clicking here).
Last week, DPReview published some photos that were taken with a preproduction model of this lens – click here to check them out. I think however that they are not really representative of what this lens is able to do, so please take them with a grain of salt.
We can’t wait to get our hands on this lens and will shoot a real-world video with it once we have it.
