SWIT MINO S140 V-Mount Battery Released - Most Compact 140Wh Battery Available

SWIT recently released a new compact V-Mount battery: the MINO-S140. This offering is the smallest 140Wh V-Mount battery o the market, but it still has a lot to offer: D-tap output and charging input, a USB-A port, and a USB-C input/output port. So let’s take a closer look at it!

Third-party accessories manufacturer SWIT is well-known for creating innovative and high-quality professional tools for filmmakers, including batteries, monitors, LED lights, camera tripods, wireless video solutions, and more.

The company already had various compact V-Mount batteries in its PB lineup, including the PB-M45S and PB-M98S, but the maximum capacity was 98Wh. For batteries to stay small and lightweight, most manufacturers limit their mini V-Mount batteries’ capacity to 98Wh. But after a lot of work, SWIT has just introduced the smallest 140Wh V-Mount battery on the market.

SWIT MINO-S140 features

Let’s start by talking directly about its size: the SWIT MINO-S140 measures 105 × 79.6 × 55.5mm for a weight of 713 grams. As a direct comparison, the FXLION Nano Three is 103 x 74 x 75mm, and the Core SWX Nano Micro 150 is 99 x 71 x 67mm.

You got it – the MINO-S140 is thinner than its competitors while still boasting a 140Wh/9.7Ah capacity. SWIT has been able to make this battery pack smaller thanks to an innovative “wire-free” internal technic. According to the manufacturer, “all the cells, D-tap, USB-A, USB-C, power indicator devices are directly soldered onto PCB, no connecting wires, to reduce internal resistance effectively, and make the circuit stable, safe, and reliable.”

In terms of power inputs/outputs, the MINO-S140 features:

  • One D-tap port that supports a 150W/12A high-load output. Also, the D-tap port can take a 16.8V/3A input to charge the battery.
  • One USB-A port to charge your smartphone or power small camera accessories with a 10W, 5V/2A output.
  • A USB Type-C port that you can use to charge the MINO-S140 in less than 3.5 hours (USB-C PD 20V/2.4A max). You can also use this port to power smartphones and laptops up to 20V/3.25A (65W) and it supports multiple charging protocols including BC1.2, PD2.0/3.0, QC2.0/3.0, FCP and SCP.

The MINO-S140 is definitely a portable yet very versatile V-Mount battery that can do it all: charge your mobile devices, power your entire camera rig, and even provide juice for power-hungry LED lights.

Last but not least, on the left side of the battery, you’ll find a four-step LED power indicator.
