SWIT WAVE500 Dual-Channel Wireless Microphone System Released

SWIT WAVE500 Dual-Channel Wireless Microphone System Released

SWIT recently released an affordable dual-channel wireless microphone system: the WAVE500. The set consists of two transmitters, one receiver and two lavalier microphones on top of the two transmitters’ built-in microphones. The WAVE500 has a 500ft/150m transmission range, up to 8 hours of battery life, and all units feature a handy display screen. So let’s take a closer look at this first wireless microphone from SWIT, aggressively priced at just under $200.

Third-party accessory manufacturer SWIT is well-known for its high-quality batteries like the MINO V-Mount or the BIVO B-Mount. But the company also makes other products such as monitors, wireless video systems, and LED lights. For example, we recently talked about the VANGO RGBWW panels that I use regularly, and that feature a good build quality, excellent light quality in both CCT and RGB modes, and an impressive price/quality ratio.

This time, SWIT is back in a new market for them: wireless audio products. Their first release is a dual-channel wireless microphone system: the WAVE500.

SWIT WAVE500 – features

The SWIT WAVE500 dual-channel wireless microphone system has two transmitters and one receiver with a 500ft/150m transmission range. The system uses 2.4G wireless bandwidth and the company claims there is “zero latency”. In addition, the units are relatively compact at only 52x42x17mm with a weight of 39g each.

On the transmitters, you’ll find two built-in mics, one 3.5mm microphone input, a USB-C charging port, three buttons for linking, mute/power, and low-cut functions. For mounting, the pocket clip doubles as a cold shoe.

The receiver features a 3.5mm line output and a headphone jack to monitor your audio signal. There are two A and B buttons to adjust the gain of the transmitters, a USB-C charging port, and a Mono/Stereo button that doubles as a power button. Like the transmitters, the receiver also features a clip/cold-shoe mount.

All WAVE500 units feature a handy color LCD display. The transmitter screens display channel (A or B), audio meter, mute status, low cut status, and battery status. The receiver screen displays audio meters and gains values for both transmitter channels, stereo or mono modes, and battery status.

According to SWIT, the built-in battery should give you a runtime of 8 hours, and all units can be charged with one included cable in around 1.5 hours.

Price and availability

The SWIT WAVE500 is available now for $199/€244. In the box, you’ll find two transmitters, one receiver, two lavalier microphones with foam and fur windshields, microphone clips, one charging cable, a 3.5mm TRS camera cable, and a 3.5mm TRSS cable for smartphone use.

We can easily say that the competition is stiff in the sub $200 wireless microphone market with products like the Comica Vimo C that we reviewed or even the Forevala W60 from SmallRig. However, none of these competitors come with lavalier microphones.
