VILTROX has just released its first-ever V-mount battery, the Snowpeak BV-99. The battery has a capacity of 99Wh (14.8V/6700mAh) and offers D-Tap in/out, BP out, USB-A out and USB-C in/out with Power Delivery. It is now available for $168.
VILTROX, a Chinese manufacturer, has gained recognition mainly for producing affordable photographic and cinema glass. However, they have recently expanded their product line with the launch of a premium family of full-frame anamorphic cinema lenses, called EPIC (you can read and watch our review here).
But not only that! It looks like the company is rapidly expanding into other market segments, such as lighting, monitoring, and now power, to provide an end-to-end ecosystem of accessories for filmmakers. So let’s take a closer look at the new VILTROX Snowpeak BV-99 V-mount battery!
VILTROX Snowpeak BV-99 – features
The VILTROX Snowpeak BV-99 is a compact 14.8V V-mount lithium battery with a capacity of 99Wh (6700 mAh). The battery measures 50x75x115mm in size, weighs 550g, and sports a minimal, white design with a front LCD screen to monitor voltage and remaining battery life.

The battery offers two D-Tap input (16.8V/5A) and output ports (11-16.8V / 10A), one on each side of the brick. The top of the battery features a USB Type-A output (5V/3A; 9V/2A; 12V/1.5A) as well as a bi-directional USB-C port with support to 45W fast-charging (5V/3A; 9V/3A; 12V/3A; 15V/3A; 20V/2.25).

As a result, the battery can also be used as a power bank, enabling rapid charging of other on-the-go devices, like laptops or tablets. According to VILTROX, the battery can be fully charged in about 2.5 hours when using the USB-C port.

Finally, the company claims that the design of the battery protects its circuitry against overcharge, over current, over-discharge, short circuit, over-voltage, over-power, recovery, overheating, and electromagnetic fields.

Price and availability
The new VILTROX Snowpeak BV-99 V-mount battery is now available to purchase from the manufacturer’s website. Its official retail price is set at $168. This means the battery lands in the same price range as the ZGCINE ZG-V99 (you can read our article of the 142Wh version here) and CAME-TV Mini 99.
