ZOLAR, a sibling company of Z CAM, has just lifted the curtain on their most powerful lighting fixture to date, the Vega 80C. This upcoming model offers a full RGBAW color engine, a 2,000-20,000K CCT range, 5,200 Lux at 3 meters, high color accuracy, and professional connectivity. Pricing is set at $2,999.
Despite being the new kid on the block, lighting manufacturer ZOLAR is already gaining attention for the build quality and color accuracy of their products. First launched at IBC 2022, their current lineup consists of three 1×1’ LED panels: the Toliman 30S, Toliman 30C and Vega 30C.
My colleague Graham recently got his hands on these lights, so if you missed it, make sure to watch his video review of this newborn team of lighting fixtures, which is getting ready to welcome a new member, the Vega 80C. Let’s take a look at what we know so far!

ZOLAR Vega 80C: sneak peek
Although the company hasn’t fully released its specs yet, we have an idea of what the ZOLAR Vega 80C is all about. This new LED panel features the same full RGBAW color engine and extensive CCT range (2,000-20,000K) as the existing Vega 30C but in a larger 2×1’ form.
Lighting People – On Location

Not only bigger, but this new model is more powerful. According to the manufacturer’s own photometric measurements, the light set at 5,600K can output up to 5,200 Lux at a distance of 3 meters. Moreover, it scores CRI 97, TLCI 98 and SSI 90 ratings.

For reference, the Vega 30C claims to output 873 Lux at the same distance, using the same settings and the Stylist W diffusion panel (90° beam angle): this turned out to be accurate in our own test.

Furthermore, being a “C” model, the Vega 80C integrates a robust set of connectivity tools, including Bluetooth + Wi-Fi, CRMX, DMX, Art-Net 4 and sACN. Finally, the fixture is compatible with the ZolarLink protocol which allows you to sync multiple units together.

Size, weight, power and design
The ZOLAR Vega 80C measures 765x529x170mm in size without the yoke and handle, so it’s actually slightly larger than the regular 2×1’ size. The light weighs approximately 20kg, so it’s about 4 times heavier than the 1×1’ models. However, this value should include the power supply unit, which apparently is now integrated in the lamp head. With a power draw of 1,000W, the Vega 80C becomes the most power-hungry in the series.

The overall design, which claims to be weatherproof, looks identical to that of the Vega 30C, with an aluminum alloy and plastic yellow corner parts to indicate its RGBAW nature. Given that the design is unchanged, it’s likely that the light will be complemented with a series of proprietary 2×1’ Stylist diffusion panels to change its beam angle.
Price and availability
Although there is no official info about the availability of this product, the company disclosed the price of the new ZOLAR Vega 80C, which is set at $2,999. That means it sits quite above the Vega 30C, which currently retails for $799.
